The family of the late Roy E. Disney is in discussions with other investors about buying the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Clifford Miller, managing director of the Disney family’s investment company, Shamrock Holdings, confirmed the involvement to ESPN.com.

Roy Disney is the late nephew of Walt Disney. His family’s investments aren’t tied to The Walt Disney Co., which owned the Los Angeles Angels from 1998-03.

Disney would join a long list of potential buyers, such as groups that include former manager Joe Torre, former Los Angeles Lakers star Magic Johnson, talk show host Larry King, former Dodgers general manager Peter O’Malley, former Dodgers stars Orel Hershiser and Steve

Garvey and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
