NEW YORK - The New York Mets have officially signed right-handed reliever Jon Rauch to a one-year contract.

The 33-year-old Rauch appeared in 53 games for the Toronto Blue Jays last season, spending some time as their closer, as he went 5-4 with 11 saves and a 4.85 earned run average.

Since the 2006 season, Rauch leads all relievers in wins (31) and has appeared in the second-most number of games (434).

Over 468 career contests -- 11 starts -- with the Chicago White Sox (2002-04), Montreal/Washington (2004-08), Arizona (2008-09), Minnesota (2009-10), and the Blue Jays, Rauch has recorded a 39-31 mark with 58 saves and a 3.82 ERA.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
