Pending the results of a physical, the Miami Marlins have nabbed one of the big fish in the free-agent market.
The Marlins have reached agreement on a three-year deal with closer Heath Bell, reported to be worth $27 million.
Bell, 34, logged three consecutive seasons with 40 or more saves for the San Diego Padres, including 43 of 48 in 2011.
The Toronto Blue Jays were reported to be interested in the reliever.
