Giants activate Beltran
By Sports Network

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Giants activated right fielder Carlos Beltran from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

Beltran has been out of action since August 7 with a strained right hand.

San Francisco acquired Beltran from the New York Mets prior to the non-waiver trade deadline. He is hitting .244 with two RBI in 11 games with the Giants after batting .289 with 15 home runs and 66 RBI for the Mets.

Beltran was not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, but is available off the bench.

In a corresponding move, the Giants placed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez on the 15- day disabled list with a left ankle sprain. The move is retroactive to August 17.

Sanchez is 4-7 with a 4.26 ERA in 19 starts this season for San Francisco.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
