Indians activate Choo
By SPORTS NETWORK

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Indians outfielder Shin-Soo Choo has been activated off the 15-day disabled list after recovering from a fractured left thumb.

The roster casualty will be veteran outfielder Austin Kearns, who was designated for assignment.

Choo was hurt during a June 24 game against San Francisco when he was hit by a pitch from Jonathan Sanchez. He underwent surgery four days later and just completed a minor league rehab stint.

In 72 games for the Tribe entering Friday's action, Choo is hitting .244 with five homers and 28 runs batted in. He was batting .357 in his nine games before the injury.

Kearns, who signed a one-year deal as a free agent this offseason, had appeared in just 57 games for the Indians and was hitting only .200 with a pair of homers and seven runs batted in.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
