Braves place Jurrjens on DL
By Sports Network

The Atlanta Braves have placed pitcher Jair Jurrjens on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee strain.

The move is retroactive to August 2, a day after Jurrjens pitched against Washington. He allowed five runs in five innings and took the loss in the 5-3 setback.

Jurrjens has anchored the Braves' rotation this season, going 12-4 with a 2.63 earned run average. He carried a 1.87 ERA into the All-Star break but has struggled since, going 0-1 with a 6.26 ERA.

The Braves recalled Mike Minor from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the roster spot and start in Jurrjens' place Sunday against the Mets.

Minor has made six starts for the Braves this year, going 1-2 with a 4.59 ERA.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
