Canadian outfielder Matt Stairs is looking for work.

The Washington Nationals released Stairs Monday, likely ending the 43-year-old's big league career. In 56 games with the Nationals this season, Stairs hit .154 with no homers and two RBI.

Stairs started his MLB career with the Montreal Expos in 1992. In 19 seasons with a record 13 different teams, the Saint John native hit .262 with 265 home runs and 899 RBI.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
