Twins activate Kubel from DL
By Sports Network

The Minnesota Twins have activated outfielder/designated hitter Jason Kubel from the 15-day disabled list.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire made the announcement following a 6-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers Thursday night. Gardenhire also said the team optioned pitcher Scott Diamond to Triple-A Rochester. The Twins activated pitcher Kevin Slowey from the DL and optioned him to Rochester.

Kubel, who has been on the DL since the end of May due to a sprained left foot, is hitting .310 with five homers and 30 RBI this season. He's expected to serve mostly in a DH role when returning to the lineup.

Diamond made his major league debut Monday when he lost to the Indians.

Slowey's been on the DL since May 21 with an abdominal strain. The right- hander is 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA in six relief appearances this year.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
