A-Rod undergoes knee surgery
By Sports Network

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez had arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Lee Kaplan at the University of Miami- Florida on Monday morning, without complications. Kaplan will also oversee the rehab process, which is slated to take place in Miami. Rodriguez is expected to miss the next 4-to-6 weeks.

Rodriguez opted for surgery after receiving a second opinion Sunday from Kaplan, two days after an MRI exam revealed a slight meniscus tear.

The 35-year-old Rodriguez had been playing through the pain since first suffering the injury June 19 against the Cubs in Chicago.

In 80 games this season, Rodriguez is batting .295 with 13 homers and 52 RBI.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
