Carmona was injured in the top of the third inning running to first while trying to beat out a double play. He tripped and landed on his stomach but walked off the field under his own power and was replaced by a pinch-runner.

In 18 starts this season, Carmona is 4-10 with a 5.78 ERA.

Closer Chris Perez was activated from the bereavement list and will take Carmona's spot on the roster.
