Marlins place Ramirez on DL
By Sports Network

MIAMI - The Florida Marlins placed shortstop Hanley Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list Monday, prior to the final test of a four- game series with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The move, which is retroactive to May 30, was made because Ramirez has been dealing with lower back inflammation. Ramirez had an MRI which revealed the issue, but did not find any structural damage.

To fill the roster sport, the Marlins purchased the contract of pitcher Brad Hand from Jacksonville of the Southern League.

Hand, a lefty, is 7-1 with a 3.53 earned run average in 11 starts for the Double-A farm club this season. The 21-year-old is expected to make his major- league debut on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
