KANSAS CITY - The Minnesota Twins have placed both outfielder Jason Kubel and designated hitter Jim Thome on the 15-day disabled list.

The club, which is in the AL Central cellar, has been riddled with injuries from key players this year and are amidst a four-game losing streak.

The Twins leading hitter and RBI man, Kubel, suffered a sprained mid-left foot on Monday in Detroit and the move is retroactive to May 31. Thome strained his left quadriceps in the loss against Detroit on Wednesday.

Minnesota recalled outfielder Ben Revere from Triple-A Rochester to replace Kubel.

He played 15 games for the Twins in May and had eight hits in 33 at-bats with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

The Twins called up infielder Luke Hughes to fill Thome's roster spot and will be available Friday.
