DETROIT - The Minnesota Twins placed starting pitcher Francisco Liriano on the 15-day disabled list after Monday's loss at Detroit with left shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to May 23. Liriano has compiled a 3-5 record with a 5.73 earned run average in nine starts this season. He pitched the fifth no-hitter in Minnesota Twins history on May 3 against the White Sox. To replace Liriano on the roster, the Twins will recall pitcher Anthony Slama from Triple-A Rochester.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
