David Purcey has been traded for the second time this season, and now the 29-year-old left-hander is headed from Oakland to Detroit.

The Tigers acquired Purcey on Friday in exchange for infielder Scott Sizemore. Purcey, who was obtained by the Athletics from Toronto April 18, posted a 2.13 ERA in nine relief appearances with Oakland. He had an 11.57 ERA in five outings with the Blue Jays, giving up three runs in 2 1/3 innings.

A 2004 first-round draft pick, Purcey has compiled a 5-10 record with a 5.17 ERA in 68 games (21 starts) in his major league career.

Sizemore started the 2011 season at Triple-A Toledo and was batting .408 when he was recalled by Detroit May 3. He hit .222 in 17 games for the parent club this season.

The teams made other moves Friday. The Tigers recalled infielder Danny Worth from Toledo, while the A's recalled pitcher Bobby Cramer from Triple-A Sacramento.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
