La Russa to undergo eye treatment
By SPORTS NETWORK

ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa will miss Tuesday's series opener against the Chicago Cubs to undergo treatment for an eye problem.

The Cardinals said in a release that La Russa is at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona for a series of examinations to treat an affliction to his face and right eye.

Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak indicated that La Russa would not be able to reach Chicago in time for Tuesday's game and that the manager's status for the rest of the week has not yet been determined.

Bench coach Joe Pettini will serve as acting manager.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
