ATLANTA -- Atlanta Braves pitcher Derek Lowe was arrested Thursday night on a charge of DUI.

According to an email from the Georgia State Patrol, Lowe was also charged with reckless driving and improper lane change.

Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Gordy Wright said in the email that a trooper stopped Lowe's vehicle at about 10 p.m. (et) on Peachtree Road in Atlanta. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected and Lowe was arrested following a field sobriety test. Lowe refused a breath test.

After the arrest, Lowe was released to the City of Atlanta Pre-trial on the charges.

Lowe has made six starts for the Braves this season and owns a record of 2-3 with an earned run average of 3.21. He is currently scheduled to start Sunday at home against St. Louis.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
