Charlie Sheen came to the rescue of his pal Lenny Dykstra last week by allegedly posting the sports star's bail.

The former baseball player, who is embroiled in bankruptcy proceedings, was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of illegally removing and selling personal property from his home without official permission.

Dykstra - nicknamed Nails - was held on remand and eventually freed on $150,000 (£93,750) bail last Wednesday.

Reports now suggest Sheen helped his longtime friend out of jail by offering up 15% of his bail bond - a down payment of $22,500, according to TMZ.com.

The troubled actor appears to confirm the news to the website, saying, "The rendition guilty trolls that kidnapped my dear friend Nails clearly forgot that he's a fellow Vatican assassin and his best pal is a warlock."

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
