Anaheim, CA - The Los Angeles Angels have placed pitcher Scott Kazmir on the 15-day disabled list with lower back tightness.
Kazmir gave up five runs in only 1 2/3 innings in his first start this season, which was this past Sunday against Kansas City.
The left-hander was scheduled to start Saturday’s game versus Toronto, but the ball will instead go to Matt Palmer, who was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake.
In parts of three major league seasons with the Giants and Angels, Palmer has pitched in 57 games (17 starts) and posted a 4.40 earned run average.
