SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The San Francisco Giants activated closer Brian Wilson from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.
Wilson began the 2011 season on the DL with a strained left oblique, which he suffered during an appearance on March 17 against the Angels.
The right-hander led the majors last season with a career-high 48 saves while posting a 1.81 earned run average in 70 appearances. He then saved six games in the postseason as the Giants captured a World Series title.
To make room for Wilson, the Giants placed reliever Santiago Casilla on the 15-day DL with an inflamed right elbow.
