Cardinals' Holliday to undergo appendectomy
By Sports Network

ST. LOUIS -- Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday is scheduled to undergo an appendectomy Friday in St. Louis, the team announced.

There is currently no timetable for Holliday's return to the field. The Cardinals said it will be determined after the procedure, which Dr. Chris Eagon of the Washington University medical staff will perform, and after he undergoes a complete medical review.

Holliday went 3-for-4 with a home run in Thursday's season-opening loss to San Diego. He hit .312 with 28 home runs and 103 RBI for St. Louis last season, his seventh in the majors.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
