Pirates send Fields to Rockies
By Sports Network

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Pittsburgh Pirates sent infielder Josh Fields to the Colorado Rockies on Monday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Fields' stay with the Steel City club was short-lived, as the Bucs signed him to a minor league contract back on Dec. 20.

The 28-year-old appeared only in 13 games with the Royals last season, missing most of the year as he recovered from right hip surgery in April. During his limited playing time, Fields batted .306 with three home runs and six RBI.

He has hit .234 with 25 doubles, 34 homers and 107 RBI in 217 career games with the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
