Astros' Barmes breaks left hand
By Sports Network

KISSIMEE, Fla. -- Houston Astros infielder Clint Barmes is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with a broken left hand, the team announced Saturday.

Barmes suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone during Friday's spring training game against the Yankees. He sustained the injury when New York's Ivan Nova hit him with a pitch in the third inning.

Barmes underwent one examination Saturday morning, when X-rays revealed the fracture. He will have another examination in Houston early next week.
