Report: Rays add Farnsworth
By Sports Network

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract with right-hand pitcher Kyle Farnsworth.

The Tampa Tribune is reporting the deal is worth $3.25 million.

Farnsworth split last season between Kansas City and Atlanta and went a combined 3-2 with a 3.34 earned run average in 60 relief appearances.

The hard-throwing 34-year-old has compiled a 34-55 mark with a 4.39 ERA and 27 saves during his 12-year career with the Cubs, Tigers, Braves, Yankees and Royals.

The Rays have lost righties Joaquin Benoit and Dan Wheeler as well as southpaw Randy Choate from last year's bullpen while set up man Grant Balfour and closer Rafael Soriano, both righties, remain unsigned.
