By Sports Network

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox made it official on Monday and signed reliever Hideki Okajima to a one-year contract.

Okajima has spent his entire four-year big league career with the Red Sox. He was 4-4 with a 4.50 earned run average in 56 appearances last season, giving up 23 earned runs over 46 innings.

The 35-year-old lefty owns a career mark of 16-8 with a 3.06 ERA in 254 games since leaving the Japanese League to join the Red Sox for the 2007 campaign. He was an All-Star in his first year and helped Boston to the World Series title that season.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
