Red Sox, Okajima close to deal
By Sports Network

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox are about to bring back reliever Hideki Okajima.

The Boston Herald reported Saturday that multiple sources indicated that the 35-year-old, who was non-tendered by the club in early December, will be brought back on a one-year deal pending his passing of a physical.

In 2010, the fourth-year southpaw was 4-4 with a 4.50 earned-run average in 56 appearances, giving up 23 earned runs over 46 innings.

Okajima is 16-8 with a 3.06 ERA in 254 games since coming to America with the Red Sox for the 2007 season.
