HOUSTON - The Houston Astros reached a contract agreement with free-agent infielder Bill Hall on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Chronicle indicated it is for $3 million over one year.

The 30-year-old hit .247 with 18 homers and 46 RBI in 119 games with the Boston Red Sox in 2010.

Since breaking into the majors with Milwaukee in 2002, the Mississippi native is a career .250 batter with 122 homers, 201 doubles and 425 RBI in 984 games playing for the Brewers, Mariners and Red Sox.

With Hall on board, it may to spell the end of second baseman Jeff Keppinger's tenure in Houston.
