BOSTON - The Boston Red Sox have reportedly agreed to terms with pitcher Bobby Jenks on a two-year contract.

The Boston Globe is reporting the deal will pay the hard-throwing right-hander $12 million, pending a physical exam. According to the paper, that will take place Saturday in Boston.

Jenks was not tendered a contract by the Chicago White Sox two weeks ago, making him a free agent.

The 29-year-old Jenks has compiled a 14-18 record with a 3.40 earned run average and 173 saves over the last six seasons, all with the White Sox.

He is initially expected to be used in a set-up role to Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon.
