OAKLAND -- The Oakland Athletics signed pitcher Joey Devine to a one-year contract on Monday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The right-hander missed the last two seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his pitching elbow in April of 2009. In the 2008 season, Devine posted a 6-1 record with one save and a 0.59 earned run average in 42 relief outings for Oakland.
For his career, the 27-year-old is 7-2 with one save and a 2.48 ERA in 67 relief appearances over four big league seasons with Atlanta and the Athletics.
