Boston - Boston Red Sox third baseman Adrian Beltre and infielder Felipe Lopez both declined the team's offers of salary arbitration on Tuesday night.

The Red Sox can still negotiate and sign the two players. If Beltre, a type A free agent, and/or Lopez, a type B free agent, sign elsewhere, the team will receive compensatory draft picks.

The 31-year-old Beltre led the majors with 49 doubles to go along with 28 home runs and 102 runs batted in while hitting .321 last season. The 30-year-old Lopez hit just .233 with eight homers and 37 RBI in 113 games with the St. Louis Cardinals and Red Sox last season.
