Atlanta, GA - The Atlanta Braves have benched second baseman Brooks Conrad for Game 4 of their National League Division Series against San Francisco.
The Braves switched Omar Infante from third base to second, while Troy Glaus -- who made 107 starts at first this season -- will start at his former position at third base.
In Game 3 on Sunday, Conrad committed three errors, the third of which allowed the Giants to take a 3-2 win. With the score tied in the ninth and a runner on second, Buster Posey hit a grounder to second that hopped between Conrad's legs, leading to the go-ahead run.
He also flubbed a grounder in the first, then dropped a pop fly in shallow right in the second that led to a run. He has committed eight errors over his last seven games. Four of those miscues have come in the NLDS.
The loss on Sunday put Atlanta in a 2-1 deficit in the best-of-five series, making Monday's contest a must-win.
