HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros have acquired right-handed pitcher Enerio Del Rosario from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations.
Del Rosario, 24, spent the majority of the 2010 season at Triple-A Louisville, where he went 4-4 with four saves and a 3.09 earned run average in 50 relief outings.
From May 24-June 13 with the Reds, the Dominican native posted a 2.08 ERA over nine appearances.
Del Rosario was originally signed by the Reds as a non-drafted free agent in 2005.
To make room for Del Rosario on the 40-man roster, Houston designated infielder Oswaldo Navarro for assignment.
Navarro, 25, went just 1-for-20 at the plate in 14 games for the Astros this season. He played 81 games for Triple-A Round Rock, where he hit .271 with six homers and 37 RBI.
