Rockies pick up Delcarmen
By Sports Network

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Colorado Rockies acquired pitcher Manny Delcarmen from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for minor-league right- hander Chris Balcom-Miller on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old Delcarmen was 3-2 with a 4.70 earned run average in 48 relief appearances for Boston this season. Over parts of six big league seasons -- all with the Red Sox -- the right-hander is 11-6 with three saves and a 3.89 ERA in 289 relief outings.

Balcom-Miller, 21, started 19 games for Single-A Asheville of the South Atlantic League this year and pitched to a 3.31 ERA while accumulating a 6-7 record.

He was originally the Rockies' sixth-round pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.
