Pittsburgh, PA – The New York Mets assigned catcher Rod Barajas to the Los Angeles Dodgers on a waiver claim Sunday.
The 34-year-old backstop batted .225 with 12 homers and 34 runs batted in over 74 games with the Mets this season. He landed on the 15-day disabled list on July 26 due to a strained left oblique and was activated on Thursday.
To fill the roster spot, the club recalled outfielder Jesus Feliciano from Triple-A Buffalo. In two previous stints with the Mets this season, he hit .292 with two RBI and eight runs scored in 27 contests.
