Arlington, TX – The Texas Rangers placed right-handed pitcher Rich Harden on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday with right shoulder tendinitis.
The move is retroactive to August 8.
Harden was on the DL from June 12 to July 30 with a strained left gluteal muscle. He has made only two starts since, with the most recent one coming on August 7 when he allowed three runs on two hits with five walks in only 2 1/3 innings in taking the loss against Oakland.
In 15 starts this season, Harden has compiled a 4-4 mark to go with a 5.45 earned run average.
To fill out the roster, the club recalled outfielder Brandon Boggs from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 27-year-old was hitting .285 with 10 homers, 49 RBI and 71 runs scored in 101 contests this season at the minor league level.
