Cincinnati, OH Ė The Cincinnati Reds have activated pitcher Homer Bailey from the 15-day disabled list to start Sunday's game against the Florida Marlins.
Bailey has not pitched since late May, when he landed on the DL with right shoulder inflammation. He was 1-2 with a 5.51 earned-run average in nine starts prior to being sidelined.
Bailey will take the scheduled turn of Johnny Cueto, who was suspended for seven games for his role in a fight with the Cardinals on Tuesday.
To make room on the roster, the Reds optioned third baseman Juan Francisco to Triple-A Louisville. In 12 games over two stints with the club this season, he has hit 7-for-22 with five RBI.
