Denver, CO – The Colorado Rockies placed pitcher Jeff Francis on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder soreness.

To replace Francis on the roster, the team recalled infielder/outfielder Eric Young, Jr. from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Francis has made only 16 starts since being reinstated from the disabled list on May 16, having began the season on the DL due to left shoulder rehab that kept him out the entire 2009 campaign. In 2010, Francis is 4-4 with a 4.56 earned run average.

Young has played in 13 games for Colorado this season, batting 8-for-32 with a double, triple and three RBI.
