Washington - The Washington Nationals have activated rookie sensation Stephen Strasburg off the 15-day disabled list and he will start Tuesday's game against the Florida Marlins.

Strasburg had been on the DL since July 29, retroactive to July 22, with inflammation in his right shoulder.

He was off to a fast start for the Nationals, posting a 2.32 earned run average and a 5-2 record. In 54 1/3 innings, he has 75 strikeouts compared with only 15 walks. He has pitched 109 2/3 innings overall this season after having thrown 109 total innings for San Diego State all of 2009.

The Nationals had cleared a roster spot for Strasburg on Monday by optioning pitcher Collin Balester to Triple-A Syracuse.
