PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen left Tuesday's game against Cincinnati after being struck in the neck with a Mike Leake pitch in the second inning.

McCutchen fell to the ground immediately before he was helped off the field by trainers. X-rays came back negative, and the team said he showed no concussion-like symptoms. He is officially listed as day-to-day.

This injury comes only several weeks after McCutchen left a game with a shoulder sprain while making a diving catch against Houston on July 18.

The 23-year-old is batting .287 with eight homers and 32 RBI in 98 games this season.
