FLUSHING, NY - The New York Mets have placed outfielder Jason Bay on the disabled list with a concussion.
Bay was hurt last Friday, when he crashed into the outfield wall while making a catch in a game against the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine. He continued to play, but started noticing concussion-like symptoms Sunday, the last time he was in the team’s lineup.
Bay, 31, is hitting .259 with six home runs and 47 RBI through 95 games this season.
To fill the roster spot, the Mets recalled outfielder Jesus Feliciano from Triple-A Buffalo. In 21 games earlier this season for New York, Feliciano hit .291.
