Rockies closer hit by line drive, hospitalized

DENVER - Colorado closer Huston Street was sent to the hospital after being hit by a line drive during a batting practice accident.

Street was hit in the lower abdomen by a line drive off the bat of Ian Stewart prior to Tuesday’s series opener versus Pittsburgh. He was diagnosed with a right abdominal contusion and is listed as day-to-day.

Street has a 1-2 mark with six saves in 14 games for the Rockies this season.
