Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is a regular contributor to this space because he never knows when to keep his mouth shut.

Case in point, as the team's losses continue to mount, the man who managed all the way to a World Series win in 2005 seems to want to talk his way out of a job. "I'm tired of being positive," he told reporters recently. "They'll blame the coaching staff and the manager and Jerry Reinsdorf and Kenny Williams, but blame the players, too. I'll take the blame because I run the club, but every move I've been making so far is the wrong one because (the players) are not supporting it. You thought I was a good manager? Look at me now. You're only as good as your players." You said it Oz.

SAY WHAT?

"I think he should adopt me. If I was his child I wouldn't play golf anymore. I'd be sitting in a boat somewhere spending all of daddy's money. I've been trying to get him to adopt me for the last five years, but he wouldn't do it."

-- John Daly to USA Today on Tiger Woods becoming a father.
