What a major-league scout says: "This kid is a heck of a player, he's going to be a real good one. But he's a natural shortstop, he's played there his whole young life. They should leave him there and leave him alone.

"Moving him to third base in July was a mistake. So what he made five errors in less than 20 games, Shortstops whether its the big leagues, double-A or college always make the most errors -- they get the most chances.

"I've seen how quick his hands are and is he mobile. I saw him charge a ball in the minors -- no, charge isn't the word -- he exploded like an NFL cornerback, maintained perfect balance the entire time and made a strong accurate throw to get the guy by half a step.

"He has great infield actions. At third all you need is a strong arm and a stronger chest as Eddie Mathews used to say."
