Home is home

The Chicago Cubs felt that the Florida Marlins should have gotten the chance to bat last when they played a makeup game at Wrigley Field on Friday. The game originally was to be played in Florida, but Hurricane Frances got in the way. Commissioner Bud Selig ruled that couldn't happen. As he did when Montreal played at San Francisco to make up a game lost in Puerto Rico, Selig said the team playing in its own ball park must bat last.

Cubs president Andy MacPhail and player representative Mark Prior had said the Marlins deserved to have the last at-bat in any rescheduled "home" game in Chicago.
