San Francisco Giants pitcher Chad Gaudin is facing lewdness charges after stumbling into a hospital in late January and allegedly fondling a female stranger.

The journeyman pitcher, who has been married since 2011, allegedly touched the breast of a woman lying on a gurney inside a Las Vegas hospital on Jan. 27, according to a Wednesday report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

He was charged with open and gross lewdness, as well as gross misdemeanor, earlier this month.

A witness said Gaudin, 30, supposedly approached a 23-year-old woman at 4:30 a.m. at Desert Spring Hospital and told her she was gorgeous before touching her face, leg and breast.

Security eventually intervened, holding Gaudin down until police arrived.

A police report said Gaudin was incoherently drunk.

“I asked Gaudin several times how he ended up at the hospital and each time he told me that he didn’t know,” wrote the officer who filled out the report.

“Gaudin appeared to be intoxicated. He had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, trouble standing still, obeying commands, an odour of alcoholic beverages and couldn’t repeat his house number, where he lives, the same way twice in a row.”

Gaudin last pitched Sunday for the Giants. He has a 2.44 ERA in 23 appearances this season.

The New Orleans native has been with 11 MLB teams over his 10-year career, including a brief stint with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2005. His longest tenure is a three-year stay with the Oakland A’s.

Assuming both starter and reliever roles, Gaudin has a 42-43 career record.

His career highlight is winning the World Series with the New York Yankees in 2009.
