TORONTO - Quebec and Alberta remained unbeaten at the Baseball Canada bantam nationals in Vaughan on Friday.
Quebec beat Manitoba 14-7 and Prince Edward Island 9-2 to move to 4-0.
Antoine Leonard had three hits, a home run shy of hitting for the cycle and Julien Cyr pitched three innings to get the win against Manitoba. Abraham Toro-Hernandez had a pair of hits and drove in a run in the win against PEI.
Alberta knocked off Nova Scotia 6-3 as Isagha Eagletail pitched a complete game striking out eight and Austin Ely had two hits. Jeffrey Derks pitched a complete game as Alberta beat Newfoundland 5-2
Austin O’Boyle of the Ontario champion North York Blues was 3-for-3, including a double and an RBI, while Matthew Ing tripled, singled and plated a run in a 12-1 decision over New Brunswick to move to 2-0. Hayden Hodgson pitched the win.
Kenny Noguchi had a pair of hits and drove in five runs in Ontario’s 12-5 win against Nova Scotia.
Robert Byckowski was 4-for-4, including two triples and three RBIs as the Vaughan Vikings knocked off Saskatchewan 12-7. Vaughan is 2-1. Mark Sinclair was 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Vaughan beat Manitoba 24-6,
Sam Stevenson had three hits in a 16-3 British Columbia win against PEI..
Colton Wood worked 41/3 scoreless as Clint Taylor tripled singled and drove in a run in a 12-0 B.C. win against Saskatchewan. Alex Hendra-Brown added a three-run homer.
Corey Kavanagh pitched 52/3 innings as New Brunswick beat Newfoundland 12-4 thanks to Mitchell Hazlett’s three hits and three RBIs.
