Infielder Erin White joined the national team in 1998 and has competed at all the major events including the 2000 Olympics. She is only one of three returnees from that squad and was among the initial eight players named to the Olympic team last December.
With her experience, White is one of the players teammates look up to because of her athletic abilities and natural leadership qualities. She comes to play every game.
Versality is also a strong suit.
"Erin is probably one of the top utlitiy players around," said coach Ron Clarke. "We can place Erin just about anywhere because she plays outfield, first base and catches and she's probably one of our stronger hitters. We count heavily on her offence."
White attends Iowa State University specializing in child and family services.
