Outfielder Rachel Schill enters her third season on the national team. Each of those seasons has included major events. In 2002, it was the world championships and last year the Pan Am Games. Now she is going to the Olympics.

She'll be further inspired at the Games by the presence of her father Robert who won a battle with kidney cancer this past winter and will travel to Athens to encourage his daughter and the rest of the Canadian team. "My Dad always tells me about the three C1s in order to have success," said Schill. "Confidence, concentration and contact. Both my parents were confident for a full recovery and that helped keep me focused in training."

Her brother Jonathan is in the NHL1s Columbus Blue Jackets organization. Rachel Schill studies kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C., and plans to pursue a career as a health professional.
