Mike Wolfs and Ross MacDonald formed a news partnership after the 2000 Olympics and qualified for the Athens Games last year by placing fifth at the world championships in the Star class.

Wolfs was introduced to sailing by his father at the age of 13. He is a two- time runner-up in Olympic Trials, including in 2000 in the Soling class. In 2002, he won the J24 US Nationals, the first time a non-American boat won this event. His brother, Rudy, is also a member of the Canadian team.
