Ross MacDonald, who sails in the Star Class this year with partner Mike Wolfs, heads to his fourth Olympic Games as one of Canada's most successful international sailors. He is best known for his bronze medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics but has also claimed three world championship medals including the world title in 1994.

This year, MacDonald and Wolfs won silver medals at two prestigious international events, the Barcardi Cup in Florida and the SPA Regatta in the Netherlands leaving no doubt they have a shot at a medal in Athens.

"Ross and Mike continued to show their solid speed and outstanding decision making," said Canadian coach Ken Dool. " The team has demonstrated the ability to come back, but also to put themselves in strong positions with excellent starts."

MacDonald runs the MacSailing sailing school in Vancouver with his wife Marcia Pellichano, a three-time Olympic sailor for Brazil. Pellichano's two brothers are Olympic medallists.
