Romina Stefancic is a new member to the women's eights crew, one of Canada's most consistently successful boats in international rowing. Stefancic comes from Slovenia where she displayed her talents winning the world junior title in women's singles in 1996 and placing third in singles at the under-23 worlds in 1999.

Her success continued in Canada as she won Canadian university titles from 2001-2003 rowing for the University of Victoria. She graduated in geography and environmental studies and her ambition is work in developing countries on environmental issues.
